Charlie Kirk, The Turning Point for America

Today is the third day of mourning for Christians and conservatives in America. Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed while speaking during their American Comeback Tour at Utah Valley University, Orem, Utah.

Turning Point USA operates on more than 3,500 high school and college campuses, with a membership of over 250,000 students nationwide, and is recognized as the largest conservative youth activist organization in the United States.

On September 10, I thought the headline on my YouTube feed was a prank. I ignored it as I was on a news fast. A few friends and my sister in Ohio confirmed that Charlie Kirk was fatally shot. I was in shock.

Charlie was admired by many conservatives and was a beacon of light among young Americans. He was an outspoken defender of his faith, Christian values, and conservative political views. He gave students and professors, many of whom disagreed with him, a platform to engage in discourse and debate regarding the differences in their opinions.

Though many of us are grieving, I believe that this will be the start of something new. This will change America forever. Jesus said in John 12:24, predicting his death:

“I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives.

I don’t know why the Lord allowed this to happen, but I believe the Lord has a bigger plan than we could ever imagine. We lost a faithful and courageous warrior, yet heaven rejoices in welcoming him. Charlie’s death will never be in vain. I believe the Lord will use it for His glory and save many lives. He will raise not just one but many Charlie Kirks, and it is going to be an awesome display of His power. This awakening will be of seismic proportions! It will be swift and cataclysmic, making every enemy of God shriek in panic. Watch and pray!
