The Lord Himself - He is my Shepherd. The Lord of my life, who created me in His image, who created the universe, the heavens and the earth - He is my Shepherd, and I am His sheep. He knows me inside out. He saw my unformed body (Psalm 139: 16), while I was being conceived. He knew me even before I was born and planned my coming into the world. Just as a shepherd knows and takes care of his own sheep, the Lord, My Shepherd, knows all about me, loves me, and takes care of me.
These are what the bible says about the Lord, our Shepherd. Do you believe in the Scripture?
He is my provider.
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19He knows all my needs.
…For your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Matthew 6:8He cares about me and my needs.
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.Psalm 34:17
He created, owned and still owns everything.
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Psalm 24:1He is generous.
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 2 Corinthians 9:10-11I can trust God to provide for all my needs.
How much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Matthew 7:11
Reflection:
Which of the following lies I believe about God?
I must provide for myself.
God does not know me nor understand my needs.
God does not care about me or my needs.
I must beg God to give me what I need.
God’s provision is based on my performance.
What are my thoughts about these?
Are there lies I believe about God that is contrary to what Psalm 23:1 says?
What truth did I learn about God in Psalm 23:1?
Prayer:
Lord, I believe that You are my shepherd and I am Your sheep. You love me and deeply care about me and my needs. I trust that I can come to You anytime and when I ask and You always hear and answer my prayers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
