Do not be Afraid, there's Good News!
Do not be afraid - we all need to hear this today. In a world full of chaos and turmoil, Jesus, our Messiah, has come to save us and has not stopped saving us since.

There are times when I find myself going to social media in search of good news. I catch myself doing this during times when I feel my life is going nowhere and I need a little lift-me-up. What a bad thing to do and a bad place to go! I know because after filling my soul with all the filth from the world, I feel even worse than before, more fearful of the future, and discontented with my life. Why am I doing this to myself? Why don't I go to the Lord in prayer and read my Bible to find good news that will uplift my spirit?
In Luke 2:10-11, the angels' good news was not just for the shepherds watching their flock, it was "good news that will cause great joy for ALL people"! That includes you and me in this present time - people of all colors and ages.
Our Messiah was born! We need to be reminded of that - we have a Messiah, a Savior King who loves us and cares about us. He saved us from our sins. In Luke 1:77, this was prophesied about John's mission to be the prophet of the Most High - he was "to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins". Now we know that it was Jesus who gave up His life for us to wash us from all of our guilt and shame.
Not only do we need God's salvation from our sins, we need saving time and time again because we repeatedly get ourselves in a bind, then we feel bad and get scared. But His love is never-ending. He never runs out of love and mercies - they are new every morning!
Aren't you glad He doesn't give up on us? He constantly reaches out to us and saves us from fear, guilt and shame. Let us remind ourselves of this great news every day.
O come let us adore the One who came in human form and lived among us - our Savior, the Lord!
