Every Christian parent desires for their children to surrender their lives to the Lord and make Him their Lord and Savior. We know that as long as they live according to God's will, they are safe and will lead a good life.

My heart broke to pieces when I saw my child walk away from God and embrace the ways of the world. It is the saddest thing that could ever happen to a child who grew up at church and was taught about God at home.

When your child turns their back on God, we know this decision has life-altering consequences that they may regret for the rest of their lives. Life without God is a tragedy.

But, I know that God is not done yet. The story does not end here. I will keep praying and crying out to Him because He hears the cry of my heart. He will never fail me.

Romans 10:11 says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”

In Luke 15:11-32, Jesus told of the Parable of the Prodigal Son. This gives me a lot of comfort because Jesus gave an assurance that it is the will of the Father for everyone to be reconciled to Him.

They are God's children first, before they were ours. God loves them and will never abandon them in their sin. Let us keep praying with faith!

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24.

Also in Luke 15:10 it says, "In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

In summary, here is how we should pray for our children and loved ones who have turned away from God and need His saving grace.

  • Realize that God is not done yet. He is at work.

  • God loves those who are lost. He will never stop chasing after them.

  • Keep praying with faith.
